Bill Gates has been a key person in the digital age. With his creation of Microsoft, Bill Gates has managed to become one of the wealthiest people in the world as well as a top business innovator. Gates is reputed to be one of the best known entrepreneurs of the personal computer. He helped advance technology to where it is today.
Bill Gates got his start when he and Allen contacted Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems for a meeting about a microcomputer BASIC interpreter platform. At the time they did not have the interpreter platform created, but they did develop an Altair emulator for the minicomputer, which lead to the BASIC interpreter. This early start for Bill Gates helped create the Microsoft Company.
The success of Microsoft has in part been due to Bill Gates innovative strategies. He has been aggressive in building Microsoft up as a company. His management style has also had a great deal to do with increasing the technological age. For most of Microsoft’s history Gates was primarily a manager and executive of the company, offering his ideas to the employees. In 2006 this innovator changed from full time work at Microsoft to part time. He does remain chairman and chief software architect of the company.
Microsoft has lost some ground in the last few years to Google, but overall it is still a strong business creating new ideas and concepts each year. The most notable project for Bill Gates has been the Windows Operating System which is widely used today.
