Boeing is well known for their global collaboration. Boeing Company began as an aerospace corporation in 1916. Their headquarters are located in Seattle Washington. Since the beginning of the company it has changed to a global company as well as a defense corporation. The international headquarters are in Chicago Illinois. The subsidiaries are Aviall, Inc., Jeppesen, Boeing Australia, Boeing Defense UK, and Boeing Store. In the last ten years, Boeing has grown in global collaboration projects. Their recent development on global collaboration projects have been the delivery to All Nippon Airways and Air New Zealand of the 787 airplane.
Boeing global collaboration projects have also included a launch contract with the US Navy for the P-8 Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft. It is an anti submarine warfare patrol aircraft. In 2005 the 777 Freighter was ordered by Air France. Other customers with Boeing include FedEx, Emirates Airline, and Air Atlanta Icelandic.
In 2006 Boeing signed a Titanium Joint Venture with Russia. The venture allows Boeing to purchase Russian titanium for their aircrafts and other products. This global collaboration is going to provide 27 billion dollars to Russia over the next 30 years. Boeing has also decided to branch out into other ventures. They will be trying to produce low cost airplanes and environmentally friendly planes. The project is codenamed after the Muppets. They are concentrating mostly on reducing the fuel usage of airplanes. There are four concepts in the works right now, which have high potential global impact for the airline industry if they are successful.
