Jeff Pulver

Jeff Pulver is an internet entrepreneur.  He is the chief executive of pulver.com.  Pulver’s work has been extensive on developing an alternative to government regulation applications regarding VoIP technology.  Jeff Pulver has coined the phrase the “Pulver Order.”  This concept was adopted in 2004 by the Federal Communications Commission.  It is the first rule about internet protocol communications.  The written rule discusses computer to computer communications.  VoIP is often called a telecommunications service, but it really is not.  Telecommunications is mostly referring to telephone communications.  Telecommunications is the assisted transmission over a distance for the purpose of communications, to be technical.

With VoIP the communication is computer to computer and not necessarily for personal communication.  Jeff Pulver began the term “Purple Minutes.”  Purple minutes refer to IP network traffic which offers an added component like voice or video.  VoIP stands for Voice over IP.  Jeff Pulver works in voice and video communications over the internet, providing information on what he feels the future will be in this type of communications.

The largest work of Jeff Pulver has been Network2 TV.  It is a guide to TV on the internet and what the future may hold for this concept.  In 2003 Pulver was named the “Tech Guru” in Business Week.  Pulver has also created VON or Voice on the Net, FWD, VON Coalition, Vivox, and PrimeTimeRewind.TV.  He is also the co-founder of VoIP provider Vonage.  Jeff Pulver has also spent some time testifying in front of regulatory boards for the state and federal levels to help online regulations.
