A CEO or chief executive officer is one of the highest ranking individuals in a company. A CEO is an administrator that works at the top of management. The CEO in a business often sets up the management team and reports to the board of directors. The CEO will have subordinate executives that must report to him, and oversee the lower managers and employees in the business.
A CEO generally does not get in the way for the day to day running of the company. The other employees work on that, while the executive reviews where projects are in the stage of completion, what the next move should be for the company, and where the company sits financially. Basically the chief executive is the figurehead.
