Texas launched a new program they are calling Innovation Initiative. The program is part of the Innovate Texas Foundation. The idea is to make the state the next Silicon Valley. Texas is in a great position for becoming more innovative, especially in technology based development. The state is full of big investors with plenty of money to spread around. With some of the biggest names in innovation living in the state and the wealth of the citizens it makes the state ripe for many new inventions.
Technological companies in the state include Dell, Texas Instruments, and NEC Corp. The business district does not have to focus only on technology. They will also be focusing on healthcare. The technological business work on products they can sell to the health care industry. Mark Strama, a state representative for Texas, stated that they are in a unique position for consolidating some of their competitive advantages into an economic development that will match other states.
It is not enough that Texas has the proper businesses and investors to be innovative. They are also going to have to integrate their innovations properly. Some states in the past have grown too quickly to be effective for more than a few years. For this state to succeed they will have to bring in some of the top executives and managers to help push their ideas out. It will mostly be about the innovation triggers one can find to create the new technological opportunities the state is hoping for.
