Sony is one of the oldest technology companies in Japan. The company began in 1946. Today it is the largest manufacturer of video games, electronics, and communication devices. Sony is mostly an electronics business focusing on entertainment with games and music. Sony also has cell phones and an entertainment group that creates films.
In the last year Sony has had issues with some of their innovations. For example the Sony Ericsson is not a top cell phone product. Apple and Blackberry have carved out the market outstripping Sony Ericsson in the development. Despite some set- backs the company is still making some top products. Their PlayStation console is still the most popular in the world even with Nintendo and Xbox on the market creating competition.
