A factory is a manufacturing plant. Most of the factories which exist today have been around for close to a hundred years, though some newer factories have been built. A factory is used to manufacture goods by using machines. In the 1700’s factories were converted to mechanical. Before that time a factory was run by labor. Each employee was hand making the product the company was selling. With the industrial revolution machines were designed with power to make manufacturing move quicker.
It was determined that the quicker a product could be made the more products the company could sell. Today all of the factories are mechanized. The largest types of factories are car manufacturers like the Ford Motor Company. If you want a factory of your own you might have to look at what you want to manufacture. Building factories requires a large amount of start up money. Most average citizens generally do not have mechanized factories, but go old-school with hand creating their products.
A recent factory that began as a little company is Crocs. Crocs are rubber shoes designed for comfort over looks. They have become a huge hit around the world, and especially in the United States. Ideas such as the innovative Crocs allow individuals to open their own factories and succeed. Factories can be opened to produce just about anything from textiles and cars to shoes. Clothing has been made in factories since the early 1900’s to make mass production cost effective for the factory’s owner.
