Harvard Business School is a United States college and one of the top places to get an education. The school first opened in 1908, and they recently celebrated 25 more years of being open. Harvard is a school about MBA degrees. They tend to recruit the top minds in the United States to give them an education that will take them far in life. Harvard publishes books, a newspaper, the Harvard Business review, and offers online management tools to students.
The school has 200 professors on staff with 1900 undergraduate students, 1800 MBA students, and 100 PhD students at any given time. The school was founded with only 59 students in attendance. It was an innovative place for research and teaching in the early 1900’s. In the 1930’s the business school grew as they sought more students. In that decade they had 500 students. Women were eventually accepted at the university in 1965 for the MBA program.
Harvard offers a two year program for their MBA program. The first year is mandatory courses and then the second year is unrestricted courses. Students also are invited to attend 2- three week pre MBA programs before they can register for the required curriculum. Admission to Harvard is difficult as the school is very selective in their admissions. They want only the best students who will excel from the education being offered. To attend the university community projects, school electives, and top grades are needed, and even then it can be tough to get accepted.
