In recent years the question has been asked if parents have forgotten what parenting means. Parenting is literally the process of promoting and supporting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children from infancy to adulthood. Parenting is a full time job that perhaps needs some new innovation.
During the 80’s there were a few popular text books on parenting. These books were followed by thousands of individuals, but things have changed since then. Children seem to be getting less parenting as they play video games all day, rather than spending time with parents out of doors. Parents are also spending more hours at work rather than being home to offer a good meal and help with homework. Not all families are this way, but a majority have been.
